ORANGE- Richard A. “Dickie” Cook, 66, of Orange, MA and formerly of Lowell, MA, beloved father and grandfather, died Friday evening, June 14, 2024 at Charlene Manor in Greenfield, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Lowell on November 23, 1957, he was the son of Leon and Marian (Weart) Cook and graduated from the Greater Lowell Vocational School where he had played on the football team.
Dickie was employed for 20 years at Ceric Fabrication and had previously worked for Hylectronics in Littleton, as well as playing softball on their company team.
Dickie also played hockey at the Janas Skating Rink and raced at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH for almost 10 years.
A devoted father and grandfather, Dickie cherished spoiling his family.
Survivors include his caring daughter, Caraleigh Brennan and her husband James of Orange; grandchildren, Lucas and Lauren Brennan of Orange; a brother, Russell Cook and his wife Mary Ruth, of Lowell; his sisters, Kathie Sierpina and her husband Daniel of Prescott, AZ, Audrey Burke and William of Amherst, NH, and Linda Cook of Lake, WV; ten nephews and nieces including Mary Cook of Lowell whom he was also Godfather too; and his former wife, Sharon Matthews, of Warwick, MA.
Richard was predeceased by his parents.
There are no calling hours.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
