ORANGE- Richard D. Blake, 73, of East River Street, died on November 19, 2023 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
Born in Orange on September 20, 1950, he was the son of the late Frank and Lillian (Perkins) Blake. He was the grandson of the late Olin and Nina Pierce.
Richard worked at the former Orange Bake Shop as a baker, and had also worked at the Athol Area YMCA as a janitor.
Richard was a good pool player and belonged to APA (American Poolplayers Association of Worcester County)
He is survived by brothers, James Canning of Athol and Gerald Canning of Orange; nephews and nieces, Steven and Rhonda Canning, Maureen and Chris Donelan, and numerous other nieces and nephews; and many friends at Colonial Acres where he lived, and the friends at APA, especially Sandy and Mike of Phillipston.
Besides his parents and grandparents, Richard was predeceased by a brother in California, Dale Canning.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be held at a later date.
