STERLING- Rose M. (Jewett) Britt, 86, of Campground Road and formerly of Red Brook Lane in Orange, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Born Montague on May 30, 1937, she was the daughter of William and Louise (Reed) Jewett and lived most of her life in the North Quabbin area.
She was married to Donald Britt for 66 years until his death on October 30, 2023.
A homemaker most of her life, Rose had worked for the N. D. Cass Company, the J. F. McElwain Shore Shop and a couple plastic manufacturers in Leominster.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Rose was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Rose enjoyed fishing as well as playing cards.
Survivors include her daughters, Theresa Windward and her husband, Shaun, of Sterling, and Susan McLaughlin and her husband, John, of Leominster; a son, Richard Britt and his partner, Sylvia Fortune, of Fitchburg; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her siblings, Lillian Jewett, Herbert Jewett, William Jewett and Fred Jewett.
Calling hours will be held on June 15, 2024 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A time for words of remembrance will start at 2:30 p.m. following calling hours in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in Rose’s memory to Care Central VNA & Hospice, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
