ORANGE- Ruie L. Hall, 93, formerly of Orange, passed away on November 7, 2021 at the Manor of Lake Jackson in Sebring, FL.
Born in Phillipston, MA on June 9, 1928, she was the daughter of Seth and Myrtle Hanes. She grew up in Phillipston and graduated from Athol High School in 1946.
Ruie loved music and sang with her sister Beverly and brother Fred as a trio when they were very young. They sang with the Heywood Wakefield Band in Gardner and Templeton MA. They also performed for summer residents at the Nichewaug Inn in Petersham.
After graduating from Athol High, Ruie was employed at the Tipton Buick Company in Gardner as bookkeeper and office worker. She later worked for Franklin County Home Care.
She married Edwin Andrews in 1948 in Gardner and they had three children. In 1966 she married Malcolm Hall in Orange.
Ruie attended the First Universalist Church for many years where she sang in the church choir where Malcolm was organist. She was a member of the Marion Nason Society and took part in many of the church fairs.
Ruie is survived by her son, David Andrews of Dawson, Georgia; her daughter Corinne and son in law Warren Winter of Sebring, Florida; daughter in law Brenda Andrews of Londonderry NH; and three grandchildren, Scott Andrews of Orlando, Florida, Chenille Foster of Lake Park, Georgia and Bryson Winter of Sebring, Florida. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husbands, Ruie was predeceased by a son, John Andrews, two brothers Emulous Hanes and Fred Hanes and two sisters Florence Carlberg and Beverly Sendrowski.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
