ORANGE- Sally A. (Calcari) Holbrook, 85, of Highland Street, died peacefully at home on Wednesday afternoon, March 22, 2023 following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Montague on July 2, 1937, she grew up and has lived in Orange her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice (Batchelor) Calcari.
In 1960, Sally married Ralph B. Holbrook and they enjoyed over 33 years of marriage until his death on July 10, 1994.
Sally was a nurse and she loved the profession. She worked most all of her career at the Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield before retiring in 2004.
Sally enjoyed traveling, dinner with family and friends, as well as knitting and needle point.
She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Orange.
Sally is survived by her children, Karen Holbrook (Lenny Lynch) of Northampton, and Anthony Holbrook (Nan Rusello) of Erving; 5 grandchildren, Anthony Jr. Holbrook, Thomas Holbrook, Michael Holbrook, Taylor Lynch and Alicia Lynch; great grandchildren, Angelica Holbrook and Trevor Holbrook; a sister, Mary Conant of Montague; and several nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents, Sally was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Calcari in 2021.
There are no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, with Fr. Shaun O’Connor officiating.
Interment will be held later in Warwick Center Cemetery.
