ATHOL- Scott L. Prue, 60, of Doe Valley Road, died late Saturday afternoon, November 25, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones following an illness.
Born in Athol on March 13, 1963, he was the son of Kenneth E. Prue Jr. and Lunette (Stewart) Prue and grew up in North Orange, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 1981.
After 35 years of courtship, Scott married Theresa (Forand) on November 22, 2023.
A skilled mechanic, Scott was self employed. He had previously worked for Flint’s Garage for 15 years, the Adell Corporation as well as for his father, Kenneth Prue Jr. Logging & Lumber.
Scott was happiest around his family and friends and enjoying his fire pit.

Scott leaves his wife, Theresa Prue, of Athol; his children, Jennifer Prue of Southbridge, Danielle Prue of Austin, TX, Christopher Robichaud and Jennifer Reed and her husband, Jon, all of Athol; grandchildren, Riley Reed, Ella Reed and Mia Reed, all of Athol, Lilyana Robichaud of Petersham, Lestat Senn of Southbridge, Annastasia Craver and David Craver, both of Texas.
Scott also leaves his mother, Lunette Prue of North Orange; his siblings, Kimberly Pratt and her husband, Bruce, of Athol, Kevin Prue and his wife, Brenda, of Athol, Timothy Prue and his wife, Paula, of Athol, Karen Kapise and her husband, Henry, of Athol, Kenneth Prue III of Orange, Cheryl Hoffman and her husband, Steve, of Pelhm, NH and Sharon Prue of Orange; and many nephews and nieces and grandnephews and grandnieces.
Scott is predeceased by his father and three brothers, Stephen Prue, Lloyd Prue and Keith Prue.
Calling hours will be held on December 6, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
There are no formal services.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations sent to Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, to assist with funeral expenses.
