Scott R. Hardy Obituary

ORANGE- Scott R. Hardy, 53, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 9, 2024.

Born in Greenfield, MA on March 19, 1971, he was the son of Clarence Hardy and Joyce (Austin) Hardy and grew up in Orange, MA.

Scott was a master when it came to cooking and began his life-long career as a chef at the age of 16. He had a passion for helping those in need and volunteered with Catholic Charities of Worcester County preparing and serving meals throughout the county. He was an exceptional pool player and enjoyed fishing, swimming, and playing with his children. During his younger years, he was a soccer and baseball player. He enjoyed rooting for his favorite team, the Boston Red Sox. Scott drew people to him with his charisma and wit. He was the life of the party, an adventurer, and had an infectious smile. He was a man whose intelligence led him through adventures both grand and intimate, his life a tale for the ages. His thirst for the unknown, and his adventurous spirit, carried him near and far, his life a bold and daring voyage. He had a comedic flair that could lighten even the heaviest of hearts. His intellect was as sharp as his humor, always ready with a joke of fact to keep you on your toes.

His greatest love in life was his two children, and through them, he will truly live on.

Scott is survived by his former wife, Dana Hardy of Orange; two children, Alyssa Hardy and Kyle Hardy, both of Orange; four brothers, Billy LaClair of Athol, Wade LaClair of Port Orange, FL, John LaClair of Leesburg, FL, and Butch Hardy of Fort Pierce, FL; one sister, Tammy Chase, of Harlan, KY; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, former in-laws, and friends.

Besides his parents, Scot was predeceased by brothers, Jesse Cole and Mark LaClair, as well as a sister, Joanne Lyman.

Gone, yet not forgotten. Although we are apart, your spirit lives within us forever in our hearts.
