ORANGE- A magical light passed into another dimension on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 3:05 PM after a 6 week “warrior” battle with Leukemia (AML).
Shali was born into this world on April 9, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. Loving wife of her Jeffries, mother to her sons, devoted grandmother, and friend to so many.
Shali was an accomplished artist. The creator of Buddha art and Moon on Mattawa studio, she painted people and animals showing their spiritual side. She was a master meditation teacher, belly dancer, aerobics instructor both in Greenfield at The Body Shoppe, and in Orange at the R.C. Mahar Regional School, and Captain of her beloved “Pon-tanka-toon" on Lake Mattawa. She loved to travel, most notably to Tokyo, London, Mexico, and Hawaii. As a Nurse Practitioner, Shali specialized in Women’s Health and served many women in the North Quabbin area with skill and compassion.
Shali was always true to herself, beautiful in body, mind, and spirit. Her smile, her hair, those intense, soft eyes, charming, peaceful, knowing, with a regal sense about her. “Our Princess”, as Shali and her Jeffries moved about this earthplane together with their long hair, and their huge presence, people noticed them and knew that they were special beings. Shali has been a friend and teacher to so many people around the world and a server of peace and greatness. We all have lost a bright light in our lives… however, she will always be shining that light upon us guiding us in our own lives as we move along this earth plane.
Shali leaves behind the love of her life, Reid Jeffries Anderson. Her son Zach Vichinsky and his wife Nicole and their children Ramsey, Austin, Levi, and Wesley. Her son Cody Vichinsky, his wife Lauren and their children Emerson and Isabelle. Her step-son Reid Anderson and his wife Katy Ostrander, her step-daughter Karen Johnston and her husband Bill, her step-daughter Caitlin Sheridan, and six more grandchildren between the families. Her brother Ken Sanders and his wife Christina Collins, and many, many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Alberta (Bert) and Martin (Marty) Sanders.
Shali will be buried privately with a memorial planned later this summer.
Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is assisting the family.
