Sharon L. "Mooney" Chaisson

ATHOL- Sharon Lee Chaisson, also known as Mooney, age 76 of Athol, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022 peacefully with her daughter and son-in –law at her bedside.

She was born on September 10, 1945 in Winchendon to Omer and Evangeline Chaisson.  Mooney attended Athol schools and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1963.

Mooney loved spending time with her family and friends, watching her granddaughters play field hockey and going to the casino with her sister Sheila, friends Chicky, Sharon, Clarence, and Denise.  Mooney also enjoyed traveling with her long-time partner, David Maroni, her favorite trip being Hawaii. Lastly, she enjoyed playing golf and skiing.

 Mooney is survived by her only daughter Lynne (Hayden) White and her husband Mark, granddaughters Courteney , her boyfriend Trevor Carey, and Lauryn White, her finance Bryce Cleveland, sister Sheila Boudreau and her son Michael and daughter Deneen, brother Alan “Butch” and his wife Sheryl and his daughters Kristen and LeeAnn, nephews Kenneth, Daniel and Jeffrey Chaisson, and many grand nieces and nephews, as well as her extended Maroni family. 

She is predeceased by her partner David “DeeDee” Maroni, her parents, brother Richard Chaisson, sister-in-law Claire Chaisson, and brother-in-law Gerald “Jerry” Boudreau.

Mooney, “Moonster” will be missed dearly by her family and friends who loved her, a bushel and a peck… and a hug around the neck.

Per Mooney’s request there will be no services at this time but she didn’t say we couldn’t have a party so we will be doing a celebration of life at the Tully Boiler Bar & Grill, 245 Tully Road, Orange, on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 1-4 p.m.
