ORANGE- Susan A. Seam, 68, of Holtshire Road, died Monday morning, June 19, 2023 at home following an illness, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut on September 16, 1954, she was the daughter of Wilfred and Cecelia (Crane) Seam and was educated in the Granby, CT school system.
Susan was a seamstress who’s talent was well known and appreciated by many. Her work included costumes for plays at the Shea Theatre and other local venues, as well as clothing for several members of a Renaissance wedding party, and costumes for horses as well as riders for shows at Crimson Acres in Orange.
Susan was a multiple time blue ribbon winner at the Franklin County Fairgrounds Roundhouse. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, crafting, fishing, camping and travel- especially to Cape Cod. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting in her yard and observing the various wildlife that shared her land with her. She also enjoyed spending time with her daughter Tina, whom she affectionately called “bone head”.
Susan’s family thanks her caregivers: UMass Memorial Health Alliance, UMass Transplant team, Hospice of Leominster, Catholic Charities, and several individuals who blessed her life- Earl Johnson, Shannon Crosby, Sally Davis, Linda Mosher, and Dot Frye.
Susan is survived by her life partner of 31 years, Wayne Duda, of Orange; daughters, Tina Bridges (John Woronecki) both of Granby, CT, and Krystal Gilsinger (Michael), both of Springfield; grandchildren, Kyle (Glen) Vieira of Ashfield, Ryan (Glen) Emond of Orange, Stephanie Gilsinger of Springfield, and Josh Gilsinger of Manchester, CT; as well as her former spouse, Charlie Bridges, of Granby, CT
Besides her parents, Susan was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Seam.
