FLORENCE- Terrance K. “Champ” Champion, 34, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton following an illness.
Born in Boston on November 28, 1986, he was the son of Michelle Champion and Kevin Mitchell and grew up in Springfield, graduating from Springfield High School. He later attended community college for trades.
Terrance enjoyed fixing cars and roofing. He was a great cook and enjoyed teaching his sister to make the best apple pie.
A compassionate and caring man, Terrance made his mother very proud.
He enjoyed making music, rapping and was known to be a comedian. Terrance also loved Call of Duty.
Terrance is survived by his mother, Michelle Champion of Orange; his father, Kevin Mitchell of Boston; a son, DeMonte’ Champion of Springfield; his siblings, Odell Champion of Seattle, WA, Nichelle Champion and Eduardo Castillo, both of Rhode Island, Brandy Castillo, Keishia Castillo and Jajay Miller, all of Orange. Terrance also leaves behind 3 nephews and 2 nieces, along with his aunts, Cassandra Walsh of Orange and Lynn Corbin and her husband, Dwayne Smith, of Athol, and many cousins.

Calling hours will be on June 2, 2021 from 3-5 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A Memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
