ORANGE- Thomas D. Dodge, 92, of Moss Brook Road, died peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning, September 9, 2023 at home.
Born in Orange on May 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Percy Sr. and Ina (Stacy) Dodge and grew up in Orange, graduating from New Salem Academy.
Tom served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from August22, 1952 until his honorable discharge on August 12, 1954 as a Corporal.
He was married to Charlene J. (Powling), who predeceased him.
A heavy equipment operator, Tom worked for the Town of Orange Water Department his entire career before retiring in 1996.
An avid outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Tom is survived by his sons, Brian Dodge and his wife, Cheryl, and Kevin Dodge and his wife, Malane, all of Orange; his grandchildren, Samantha Rudd, Christopher Dodge, Brandon Dodge, Dillion Dodge; Logan Dodge and Skylar Dodge; great grandchildren, Preston, Olivia and Hunter; his long time companion, Virginia Cogswell of Orange; several nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his siblings, Percy Jr., Helen, Richard, Cheney, and Evelyn.
There are no calling hours.
A private graveside service will be held in West Orange Cemetery, Orange.
