Tracy L. (Cacciolfi) Matthews

ATHOL- The family of Tracy (Cacciolfi) Matthews sadly announce the tragic and sudden loss of her life due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident on Friday June 30, 2023. Tracy was genuinely one of the kindest, sweetest and gentlest souls in the world.

Tracy was born in Athol, MA, the daughter of Judy (Risatti) Rathburn and Frank Cacciolfi. She was a life time resident of Athol, MA. Tracy attended Athol Schools and Wachusett Community College where she graduated with a degree and certificate in Medical Coding and Medical Office Assistant.

Tracy loved the simpler things in life by spending time with family over anything else. As a pre-teen and teen she had the experience of traveling with family across the country, saw many natural wonders but preferred the quite quaintness of her home town. She loved weekends away at a beach or shopping with her mom and sister,  She deeply loved all four children, she loved spending time with them telling scary stories in the dark and taking walks at night, she was always so much fun when it came to her children’s interests but her greatest joy since her children have grown were her grandchildren, Kaelyn Gabrila,  Alexia Hicks, Haley and Cameron White. Tracy devoted all her time, energy and love to her grandkids, taking them to Hampton Beach was a favorite pastime. Nothing brought her more joy then these four children and they loved her with the same passion, kindness and sweetness that defined who Tracy was. Her biggest influence was her best friend and her mother. She emulated her love for her grandkids after her mom. They were as much best friends as they were mother and daughter. Tracy would give you her last dime, save any animal, laugh and cry with you and want nothing in return. She was truly a rarity.

Tracy is preceded in death by her husband Glenn T Matthews and brother, Frankie Cacciolfi.

She is survived by her four children Jennifer Rahaim of Gardner, MA (mother of Kaelyn & Lexi), Twins Thomas and Nicholas Rahaim of Winchendon, MA and Andrew Matthews of Athol (father to Haley and Cameron), as well as Lucy White, mother); her loving parents Judy (Risatti) Rathburn and Richard Rathburn of Orange, as well as Frank Cacciolfi and his caring wife Lynne of Athol; her brother Mark Cacciolfi and wife Lisa of Wareham, MA; George Groccia of California; Scott Cacciolfi of Athol, and sister Michelle Perusse of Greenfield; step-sister Sandy (Rathburn) Murcell, step-sisters Judy (Rathburn) Adams of Wrentham, MA and Cynthia (Rathburn) Grimard of Erving, MA, as well as step-brothers Tim and John Rathburn both of Athol; she leaves her two nephews, whom she greatly loved like her own, Zachary Cacciolfi and Nicholas Fifield.  Tracy also leaves Aunts, Uncles and cousins who are devastated for the loss of their sweet niece. Tracy recently found happiness, companionship and love with Ronnie Cherichetti and he was with her at her last moments. Prayers for his full recovery from this accident.

On Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, the opportunity to pay respects will be held at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange, MA. A brief service will be conducted at the funeral home at noon, followed by a graveside prayer at the Silver Lake Cemetery in Athol.

If you want to express your grief and condolences through flowers, please consider blue and white, as this was Tracy’s favorite. In Lieu of Flowers please consider donating to a local Animal Shelter or Rescue in Tracy’s honor. She was also a wonderful fur-mom that loved her pets.
