Vincent E. Perkins Obituary

Warwick - It is with profound sadness, we share the passing of Vincent Eric Perkins, who left us on January 25th, 2025, at the age of 65. A life-long resident of Warwick, MA, Vincent passed surrounded by his family in his final moments.
Vincent, fondly known as Vinny, lived a rich life, devoted to his family and full of the simple enjoyment of living in the home that he built, with the help of his family in 1988. Born to Clyde and Helen Perkins on March 1st, 1959, he grew up in town, attending Warwick Center School and then Pioneer Valley Regional School. In his younger years, he worked for the Erving Paper Mill and then for Felton Construction. He later worked for the Town of Warwick and eventually Zaluzny Excavating, where he retired in 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Alden) Perkins, with whom he shared a loving marriage of 42 years. His two daughters, Michelle Wilder, and her husband, Richard Wilder, Jr., and Jill Streeter, and her husband, Nathan Streeter, were the pride of his life. He cherished every moment he spent with his loved ones, especially his young granddaughters, Emma Wilder and Addison Streeter. In addition to his father, Clyde, he also leaves four siblings, Clyde Jr., Tim, Lori and Todd Perkins, and many nieces, nephew and cousins.
Vincent was always there for his family, acting as handyman, carpenter, landscaper, mechanic and everything in between. Often, he would spend the day in his garage, tinkering with projects, creating home and yard improvements, and fixing anything that needed fixing. He greatly enjoyed waking up early to go to the flea market with Linda, buying and selling antiques and tools, and more often than not would come home with surprises including tractors, trucks and even a puppy.
Vincent was an avid deer hunter, taking great pride in his 'rackers' and eager to swap hunting stories with anyone who would listen. In recent years, he hunted alongside his son-in-law with a group of family and friends, belonging to a passionate and fun-loving community of hunters. Fishing was another treasured pastime for Vinny; both locally, catching bass in ponds and lakes, and heading to the ocean for deep sea fishing. His passion for his hobbies and his quick humor will be remembered by all who loved him.
A man of few words, but of profound love and connection to his family and friends.
Vincent. Vince. Vinny. Vint. Dad. Grandpa. He will be forever remembered in our hearts.
In honor of Vincent's memory, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Turners Falls Schuetzen Verein, 55 Barton Cove Rd, Gill, MA, on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, from 1 - 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, you may bring a shared dish for the gathering.
