WENDELL- Vincent J. McHugh Jr., 70, of Bullard Pasture Rd, Wendell, MA died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, February 26th. He was born in Greenfield, MA and grew up in a US Navy family living all over the country. He attended the Philadelphia College of Art and was self-educated in multiple disciplines including philosophy, religion and advanced technology. He spent his working years in Richmond, Virginia as a painter and in building material sales.
He retired to Massachusetts in 2011, living throughout Franklin County before settling in Wendell. He was a member of Republican Lodge, A.F. & A.M. chartered in 1797. He was an international traveler, avid music fan, foodie and cook. He enjoyed fishing, wildlife and working on his property in the woods.
Vince leaves his wife, Gretchen Heinle, her son Conner Heinle of Royal Oak, MI; two siblings, Tom McHugh and his wife Eileen of Fitzwilliam, NH, Carolyn Abramo and her husband Paul of South Glastonbury, CT; nephews Jesse McHugh and his wife Azur of Portsmouth, RI ; Walter McHugh and his wife Amanda of Fitzwilliam, NH, Dominic Abramo of Amston, CT, Christopher Abramo of South Glastonbury CT and his niece Julia McHugh of Troy, NH.
Vincent is pre-deceased by his parents; Vincent J. McHugh and Ruth F. McHugh of Gill, MA.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 2nd at the Osgood Brook Cemetery, New Salem Road, in Wendell.
