ORANGE- Yvette M. (Bigeau) Barr, 70, of Walnut Hill Road, died on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Athol Hospital following an illness.
Born in Clinton on February 20, 1951, she was the daughter of Yvon and Mary (Bellette) Bigeau and grew up in Clinton, graduating from Clinton High School in 1969.
On June 16, 1973, Yvette married Philip K. Barr and they enjoyed their life together raising their family for 47 years until his death earlier this year on January 15, 2021.
Yvette was a nail technician and owned her own salon, Yvette’s Tips and Toes.
An avid traveler, Yvette enjoyed many trips including a trip to Ireland with Jane and many Wilson Bus tours. She also enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting.
Yvette is survived by her children, Eric Barr of Orange, and Desiree Sullivan and her husband, Michael, of Greenfield; step daughters, Renee Shepardson and Julie Barr, both of Florida; grandchildren, Destini Rose Sullivan and Winter Sullivan.
Yvette also leaves a sister, Michelle Evans of Gardner; a brother Paul Bigeau and his wife, CJ, of Leominster; and several nephews and nieces. She also leaves behind her much loved dog “Sophia” , as well as “Skippy” her parrot.
Besides her parents and husband, Yvette was predeceased by a brother in law, Gary Evans.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A committal service will be held in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, on Thursday July 8th at 1 p.m.
