Edward A. Tacy Jr.
ATHOL- Edward A. Tacy Jr., 80, of Shore Drive, died early Wednesday morning, May 17, 2017 at Health Alliance- Leominster Hospital in Leominster a day after his 80th birthday.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 16, 1937 he was a son of the late Edward A. Sr. and Blanche (Mossey) Tacy.
Edward served in the Army National Guard 181st Division.
Employed by the Town of Orange, Edward worked for the Highway Department for over 19 years. He had also owned and operated a gun shop in Brattleboro, Vermont for over 10 years which satisfied his love for guns.
Edward loved to dance, the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His greatest happiness was spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include his children, Sheryl Hendricks and Edward M. Tacy Sr., both of Athol, Jackie Shiver of Huntsville, Texas and Deborah Hurst of Merritt Island, Florida; grandchildren, Deven Cooley, Jonathan Benoit, Michael Tacy, Kristie Marie Shiver, April Grisham, Kevin Hurst and Jessica Jean Dumas; and nine great grandchildren.
Edward’s father died in 1978 and his mother died in 1996. He was also predeceased by a son, Clyde Tacy, and a daughter, Pamela Tacy.
Calling hours will be held on Monday May 22 , 2017 from 4-6 p.m., at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange.
Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
